Intrasite Gel
Intrasite Gel
INTRASITE Gel is an amorphous hydrogel which gently re-hydrates necrotic tissue, facilitating autolytic debridement, while being able to loosen and absorb slough and exudate. It can also be used to provide the optimum moist wound management environment during the later stages of wound closure. It is non-adherent and does not harm viable tissue or the skin surrounding the wound. This makes INTRASITE Gel ideal for every stage in the wound management process.
Features
- Partially hydrated hydrogel formulation
- Contains propylene glycol
- APPLIPAK◊ container, available in range of sizes
Indications
- INTRASITE Gel is used to create a moist wound environment for the treatment of minor conditions such as minor burns, superficial lacerations, cuts and abrasions (partial thickness wounds) and skin tears.
- Under the direction of a healthcare professional, INTRASITE Gel is used to create a moist wound environment for the management of:
Venous ulcers (leg ulcers)
Surgical incisions
Diabetic foot ulcers
Pressure ulcers (including stage IV) - Creates a moist wound environment, which assists in autolytic debridement of wounds covered with necrotic tissues.
Benefits
INTRASITE Gel’s partially hydrated formulation allows the gel to donate moisture to drier environments and absorb in wetter environments, creating a moist wound management environment.
- Debriding action
INTRASITE Gel rehydrates necrotic tissue and, by its gentle yet effective action, aids debridement. - Desloughing action
INTRASITE Gel absorbs slough and exudate without damaging fragile granulation tissue. - Creates a moist wound healing environment
INTRASITE Gel increases moisture content at the wound surface, helping prevent eschar formation. By keeping fragile granulation tissue moist and allowing the migration of epithelializing cells, INTRASITE Gel helps to create an optimal moist wound management environment. - Gentle action
Effective yet gentle action leaves delicate granulation tissue undisturbed helping to reduce trauma. - Non-adherent
INTRASITE Gel is non-adherent so it is easily removed from the wound by irrigation with normal saline; without damaging fragile tissue or causing unnecessary pain for the patient. Extensive clinical support, suitable for use at all stages of the wound management process. INTRASITE Gel contains propylene glycol which acts as a humectant (moisturizer) which prevents the gel from drying out and improves handling. - Easy to use
The unique Applipak system provides simple, directable and controlled application even in awkward wound sites. - Available in range of sizes
Range of sizes available for wound size – controlling and reducing wastage for cost effective wound management.

Benefits
Faster, safer, less painful wound healing
OPSITE FLEXIGRID has set the standard in moist wound healing by retaining the natural wound exudate which contains vital nutrients for growing cells, and white blood cells to prevent infection. OPSITE FLEXIGRID provides an environment for safer and less painful wound healing. The high moisture vapour permeability allows excess exudate to evaporate, preventing skin maceration.
Superior film with acrylic adhesive
The OPSITE FLEXIGRID film is highly extensible and conformable, which combined with its high moisture vapour permeability, means the dressing can be left in place for up to 14 days. This minimises interference at the wound site and reduces the amount of nursing time required.
Waterproof
OPSITE FLEXIGRID is impermeable to water and body fluids, protecting the skin underneath and allowing the patient to bathe without changing dressings. It also aids in the prevention of bacterial contamination.
Simple, effective application technique
OPSITE FLEXIGRID provides a simple and effective application system. The flexible carrier enables single handed application allowing the dressing to conform to the contours of the body. Its transparency enables accurate positioning over the wound site.
Adaptable to Awkward Areas
OPSITE FLEXIGRID has been designed to be adaptable for use on all areas of the body. It can be easily cut into strips or shapes for application to awkward areas such as heels, elbows and knees.
Unique Wound Management Grid
OPSITE FLEXIGRID incorporates a unique wound measurement device which allows simple but accurate assessments of the healing process to be made. After tracing the edges of the wound, the FLEXIGRID carrier can be removed and stored in the patient’s notes.
Opsite Post-Op
Opsite Post-Op
This post-operative dressing combines the advantages of OPSITE film with an absorbent dressing pad to provide a superior dressing for many types of wound
Features
- Transparent OPSITE film
- Easy application system using a flexible carrier
- Low adherent absorbent dressing pad
- Fluid and bacterial barrier
Indications
To dress post-operative wounds and casualty wounds as well as minor cuts and lacerations.
Benefits
Waterproof
The OPSITE Post-Op film is impermeable to water and body fluids, allowing the patient to bathe and shower without changing dressings.
Bacterial Barrier
The OPSITE Post-Op film provides a bacterial barrier, helping to reduce the risk of secondary infection.
Breathable
High moisture vapour permeability allows the wound and the skin around the wound to breathe, reducing the risk of maceration. The low allergy adhesive reduces the risk of irritation whilst ensuring the dressing stays in place even over awkward contours.
Transparent Film
The clear film allows the user to monitor the level of fluid and check for infection without removing the dressing. Therefore the dressing can be used for a maximum length of time.
Absorbent, Low-adherent Pad
The thick pad is highly absorbent, minimising the number of dressing changes whilst protecting the wound from further injury. The low-adherent pad surface leaves the wound site clean and comfortable, reducing the pain when changing the dressing.
Conformable
OPSITE Post-Op is highly conformable, even over the most awkward body contours. Its extensibility does not restrict movement, ensuring that it is comfortable for the patient. The unique dressing carrier keeps the film firm, allowing easy application.

Allevyn Adhesive
Allevyn Adhesive
ALLEVYN Adhesive – Hydrocellular Dressing ALLEVYN Adhesive provides the advantages of ALLEVYN Hydrocellular dressings in a adhesive format for simple and effective fixation.
Features
- Low allergy adhesive
- Tapered construction with micro-thin edges
- Unique trilaminate structure
- Perforated wound contact layer
- Highly absorbent central hydrocellular layer
- Waterproof outer film layer

Benefits
- Convenient adhesive presentation
The wound contact layer of ALLEVYN Adhesive is coated with a low allergy adhesive which is designed to adhere well to intact skin, but not to wounds. The adhesive is non-irritating. - Highly absorbent
In-vitro studies and clinical experience demonstrate that ALLEVYN Adhesive dressings can stay in place for up to seven days. This capacity results from a combination of properties:
The perforated wound contact layer allows even viscous exudate to pass into the dressing.
The hydrocellular core of the dressing absorbs and holds liquid in its microscopic structure.
The breathable outer surface of the dressing allows excess moisture to evaporate away from the dressing.
The result is the formation of a wound environment, which allows wound closure to progress without the need for frequent dressing changes. - Moist Wound Environment
ALLEVYN Adhesive creates and maintains a moist wound healing environment at the wound surface, helping prevent eschar formation. - Profiled dressing edges
ALLEVYN Adhesive has a profiled cross-section, narrowing to micro-thin edges which helps ensure the dressing remains securely in place and prevents accidental removal by friction between the dressing and clothes and bedding. - Waterproof/Aids in the prevention of bacterial contaminationCushioned comfort
ALLEVYN Adhesive dressings are soft and cushioning, giving excellent patient comfort and protection.
